Hybrid Part 2: Hybrid Motor, Cooling & Accessory Diagnostics
This webinar is the second in a 2-part series covering most hybrid vehicle diagnostic categories that you’ll run into. With so many manufacturers and hybrid models now out of warranty, it’s a good thing that we have such detailed repair information available – except that we don’t! There is rarely any detailed description of operating conditions, failure modes, known-good PID values or waveforms. This webinar and optional manual solve that problem for various hybrid motors types and testing methods, including resolvers, inverters, boosting, and other topics.
Also covered will be the various hybrid cooling systems, including refrigerant, air, and coolant-based systems, along with various electric pumps, valves, and solenoids. Lastly, we will cover the differences with base engine operation and testing and other unique components, such as DC-DC converters and low voltage hybrid control systems.
Optional Manual:
ATG’s Hybrid Systems Diagnostics manual is available with this webinar at a discounted price, and can be used for both part 1 and 2 of this webinar series. We’ve offered Toyota and Ford-specific hybrid manuals before, but because of the explosion of hybrid manufacturers and models, we assembled this manual to help you navigate diagnostics on any hybrid. It describes the wide variety of ways manufacturers design their systems, which gives you the ability to choose your own diagnostic path even for hybrids and hybrid-related systems that you’ve never worked on. Using this manual, you’ll be able to recognize the systems and components for all hybrid configurations and devise efficient tests for finding root causes quickly, regardless of who made it.
